Anti Ragging CellHigher Educational Institutions including Universities and Colleges are considered saintly abode for student’s academic career. It gives us memories and escapades of a lifetime. It exposes us to experiences that we were not familiar with earlier. It is a period of learning, nurturing one’s future and making friends. It shapes our future and broadens our vision. Sometime, ragging in the name of rituals like “Introduction with newcomers” is practiced in higher education institutions. It involves abuse, humiliation, or harassment of new entrants by senior students.
Ragging has become a trend in a number of educational institutes which has led to lives being ruined. Our youth is made helpless. It’s impact on young minds has serious consequences like mental disorders that last for lifetime, some even choose to end their lives.
UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009 are in place to root out raging in all its forms from Universities, Colleges and other educational institutions in the country by prohibiting it by law, preventing its occurrence by following the provision of these regulations and punishing those who indulge in ragging as provided for in these regulations and the appropriate law in force.
Model Government Degree College Charar-i-sharief, values the dignity of every individual including students or those undergoing training, instruction or education in the college, we follow UGC regulations on curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009.
Towards this end, all forms of ragging in the college are banned and committees like Anti-ragging and Anti-eve teasing Committee and Discipline Committee are in place to ensure that activities related to ragging are not allowed in the campus. The members of the committees can be contacted to report any such event.
