An international webinar on ''Recent advance in synthesizing the materials for application in natural sciences '' was conducted by the Department of Chemistry and Physics in collaboration with Department of Computer Applications , Model Govt Degree College Charar-i-Sharief on 28-09-2020. The webinar started at 2:00 PM with the welcome speech by professor Nusrat javidani , principal and the chief patron of the programme. The further proceedings were carried out by Dr. Mohsin Ganaie HOD deptt. of physics. The guest speakers for the webinar were Dr. Mudasir Maqbool ,Department of chemistry ,university of Oslo Norway and Dr. Asim Mumtaz ,Lecturer/Academic manager university if Liverpool,Chadwick ,U.K . Both the speakers higlighted the synthetic approaches towards the synthesis of new materials and their applications in the current world of science and technology. The key aspects were exploring potential of anti- neurodegenerative agents and synthesizing GaAsN multi-junction solar cell and applications. The webinar was attended by the participants from within the country and across the borders. The webinar was highly appreciated from international participants and got a overwhelming response with strong participation of nearly 400 participants. The webinar was concluded successfully at 3: 30 PM with the vote of thanks presented by Dr. Sheeraz Ahmad teli. (HOD Dept.of chemistry )
Today on 24th of November Dean College Development council Dr Mohi din Sangmi alongwith other faculty members of Kashmir University visited MGDC Charar sharief in connection with affiliation for different subjects Food Technology,IT Kashmiri, Information Technology and BBA stream. A daylong National Seminar on the theme "Communal Harmony and Brotherhood as Depicted in Kashmiri Poetry" was held in the Seminar Hall of Model Govt. Degree College Charar-i-Sharief on 4th of December 2021. The program started with the formal welcome address by the worthy college Principal Prof. Ravina Hassan to the guests and participants. The seminar was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Ajaz Mohammad Sheikh, Head Department of Urdu University of Kashmir, who in his key note address highlighted the significance of communal harmony and brotherhood in the present context. Referring to the divine scriptures Dr. Ajaz recounted that God has created the universe unbiasedly for all the human beings who in turn are decreed to live in peace and harmony. Afterwards, a special address was delivered by the guest of honor Prof.(Dr) GN Khaki, Director, CSAS, University of Kashmir. In his address Prof Khaki pointed out the origin and roots of communal harmony and universal Brotherhood which lie in Islamic civilization. He also emphasized upon the importance and relevance of religious coexistence by referring to the teachings of eminent saints. Prof Khaki also recounted many popular verses/quotes from several Sofi poets of the valley like Sheikhul AlamRA , Lal Del, SochkralRA and Wahab Khar who are regarded as the icons of Communal Harmony and Brotherhood as far as Kashmiri poetry is concerned. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Satish Vimal, Program Executive All India Radio Srinagar, highlighted the role of Kashmiri poets especially Sheikul AlamRA as preacher and propagator of communal harmony and universal brotherhood. Dr. Satish also focused upon the relevance of kalam-i-Sheikul Alam in the current circumstances which is an unprecedented epitome and treasure of knowledge and divine guidance. Next Dr Afaq Aziz, Professor, CCAS university of Kashmir presented a paper on the theme of the seminar with special emphasis upon critique of prevalent social evils, communal disharmony and disorganized political setup. Dr Afaq focused upon the need and importance of love and brotherhood -which has been the recurrent theme in most of the Kashmiri poetry- as the final resolution to all the barriers. Among others luminaries Dr. Mohd. Hussain Dar, Asstt. Professor Kashmiri, GDC Beerwah also presented a paper on the role of Kashmiri Saints and Sofi poets as custodians of Kashmiriyat. Finally Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir, worthy Registrar, University of Kashmir, who was the Chief Guest of the seminar presented his speech and focused upon the need and importance of learning in life especially the literature written in our own mother tongue which is rich and broader in scope. The seminar was successfully concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Neelofar Ara, while Dr Afshana was dais in charge during the proceedings.
An alumni meet was held on 11-12-2021 at 11:00 AM in the conference Hall of MGDC Charar-i-Sharief. Besides Alumni of the college the meeting was also attended by class representatives and other concerned stake holders. Principal along with the teaching staff of the college was also present in the meeting. The formal welcome speech was delivered by Prof Shabilla Miraj. The agenda of the meeting was; 1. To choose a suitable name for the Alumni Association. 2. To finalize the location for registered office of the Association. 3. The nature of Association must be Non Political and Non Govt. Organization. 4. Framing of Future Policies to boast Curricular and Co-curricular Activities. 5. To point out the thrust Areas where we should pay more attention (e,g Community Development, Extension Lectures, Lectures on Career Counselling etc.) After a thorough and thought provoking discussion on the objectives of the agenda following resolutions were unanimously finalized and written down for immediate action;
